Former Vice President Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has sent a congratulatory message to all Muslims for a successful Ramadan, a statement issued on Monday said.
The statement signed by Dr. Bawumia himself prayed Allah extends his favours upon the people of Ghana.
He urged his fellow Muslims to uphold the virtues of kindness and extend to the poor and vulnerable in the society.
“On the blessed occasion of Eid-Ul-Fitr, Hajia Samira and I extend our warmest congratulations to fellow Muslims in Ghana and the world over for a successful Ramadan. May Allah accept our supplications and extend his favours upon all of us, loved ones and our dear nation,” said the statement.
“Let us continue to uphold the virtues of kindness we showed during the holy month, especially to the poor and vulnerable members of our society,” it added.
Being the sixth Vice President of Ghana’s Fourth Republic, Dr. Bawumia served under Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo between January 2017 and January 2025.
He also contested the country’s 2024 presidential election on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) but lost to John Dramani Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC). Enditem
