The President John Dramani Mahama has nominated the next batch of District Chief Executives (DCEs) for various Districts, a statement from the Presidency announced on Friday.
The statement signed by Callistus Mahama, Secretary to the President said the nominations are subject to the approval of the respective District Assemblies.
“I write to inform you that in accordance with Article 243 of the 1992 and the Local Governance Act, 2016 (Act 936) as amended by the Local Governance (Amendment) Act, 2017, the President of the Republic has nominated the following individuals as District Chief Executives, subject to approval by the respective District Assemblies,” said the statement.
Among the regions to which such nominations were made include the Bono East, Bono, Upper West, Western, Central, Upper East, and Northern.
President Mahama made the first batch of DCE nominations for some assemblies last week.
