This year’s customary ban on drumming and noise-making in the Tema Traditional Area will be observed from April 25, this is according to a statement released here.
The statement signed by the Registrar of the Tema Traditional Council announced that the ban will take effect from April 25 to May 17, 2025.
“It is announced for the information of the general public, particularly residents in the Tema Traditional Area that, this year’s customary ban on drumming and noise making within the Tema Traditional Area takes effect from Friday, April 25, 2025 to Saturday, May 17, 2025,” said the statement.
“Please be informed that during this period, burials and funerals are prohibited within the Tema Traditional Area. Other activities that are prohibited include the playing of music, drumming, and generally, noise-making,” the statement added.
The Tema Traditional Council entreated all persons to observe the period as such and abide by the directive in order to forestall any confrontations between representatives from the council and members of the community.
The Tema Traditional Area include Tema Newtown, and all communities, Ashaiman, Zeenu, Kubekro, Adigon, Saasabi, Klagon, Adjei Kojo, Sakumono, and Adjeiman. Enditem
