Chinese company gives sponsorship package for 2025 Chinese language competitions in Ghana

— A Chinese company operating in Ghana has donated items to sponsor the 2025 Chinese language competitions in the country, the Confucius Institute said on Monday.

Sunda Ghana Investment Limited donated supplies, including electronic devises as the prizes for the competition, sanitary towels and detergents, among others, as part of its sponsorship for the Chinese Language Day and the “Chinese Bridge” Competition to the Confucius Institute at the University of Ghana during a recent meeting at the Confucius Institute.

Receiving the items, Wang Jimin, Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute, expressed gratitude for Sunda’s generous donation towards the competition slated for this Thursday.

“The contribution provides strong support for the development of the Chinese vocational skills program, helping to cultivate more local talents with both Chinese language proficiency and professional skills,” Wang noted.

Lei Biao, head of human resources at Sunda International Ghana Limited, said the company has long been committed to cultural exchanges between China and Ghana, emphasizing corporate social responsibility.

“This donation marks a continuation of our long-term cooperation with the Confucius Institute, aiming to provide students with more opportunities to learn Chinese and understand Chinese culture,” Lei said.

Liu Yunzeng, Sales Director of Micasso Tiles and Vice President of the Ghana Anhui Chamber of Commerce, who also attended the meeting, said Chinese enterprises deeply rooted in Africa value Chinese language education and local talent development.

"We will continue to support the Confucius Institute in the future, further promoting cultural exchanges between China and Africa," Liu added. Enditem
