7 killed, 15 injured after ambulance collides with three-wheeled motorcycle in S. Tanzania

At least seven people were killed and 15 others injured on Saturday after an ambulance collided with a three-wheeled motorcycle in Mufindi District in Tanzania’s southern highlands region of Iringa, an official said.

   Linda Salekwa, commissioner of the district, told Xinhua over the phone that the collision occurred at 6 a.m. local time.

   Salekwa could not confirm whether any of the dead were in the ambulance, but said preliminary reports indicated that the victims on the motorcycle were on their way to a farm when the accident occurred.

   She added that an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the accident.  Enditem
