Former Inspector General of Police, George Akuffo Dampare has expressed his gratitude to God and all those who supported him to serve the country; this is according to a statement issued on Friday.

According to him, he was overwhelmed by the love and support shown to him by several persons after he was removed from office by the President, John Dramani Mahama, on Thursday.
“With reference to the press statement on Thursday March 13, 2025, signed by the Minister of Government Communications, announcing his replacement, the former Inspector-General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, wishes to express his heartfelt gratitude to the Almighty God and the good people of Ghana for their prayers and support during his time in office,” said the statement.
Dampare expressed his heartfelt gratitude to former president Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for giving him the opportunity to serve this country and for making history as the youngest IGP in the Fourth Republic.
He also thanked President Mahama for his cordial working relationship in the short time they worked together.
The former IGP also expressed his appreciation to religious and traditional leaders for their “prayers, wisdom, and good counsel at all times.”
He also expressed his gratitude to heads of sister security agencies for their cooperation and steadfast support while commending Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) for their support as well and constructive criticisms.
Mr. Dampare also expressed his gratitude to the international community and the various diplomatic missions for their support, encouragement, reviews and engagements and finally expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve the Ghana Police Service for 35 years.
