Ambassador Sam Pee Yalley reported dead

Former Ghana’s High Commissioner to India and prominent member of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sam Pee Yalley has passed away at age 63, according to sources within the party.

His death, which was said to have occurred on Sunday at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in the Ghanaian capital of Accra, has deeply saddened the political and diplomatic community.

While the exact cause of his sudden demise is yet to be confirmed, the news has been met with an outpouring of grief from various political figures including his party compatriots and political opponents

Ambassador Yalley’s career spanned both legal and diplomatic fields. He was a seasoned lawyer and also served as Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the National Pensions Regulatory Authority (NPRA) before being appointed Ghana’s High Commissioner to India in 2014 by President John Dramani Mahama during his first term in office spanning between 2013 and 2017.

Throughout his tenure, Ambassador Yalley was noted for his commitment to promoting Ghana’s international relations and advocating for Ghanaian interests abroad.

Apart from his diplomatic achievements, Sam Pee Yalley was widely respected for his advocacy work, particularly in promoting female leadership within Ghana.
