NACOC seizes 73 slabs of suspected cocaine

The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) on Wednesday intercepted a cargo shipment believed to contain cocaine at the Swiss Port at the Kotoka International Airport.

According to NACOC, a total of seventy-three (73) slabs of a hidden substance suspected to be cocaine were discovered during the operation. The drugs, weighing about 89.74 kilograms, were allegedly being prepared for export to the Netherlands.

Four persons, according to the Narcotics Control Commission, have been arrested in connection with the drug bust.

The identities of the four arrested individuals have not yet been made public, but they are currently in the custody of NACOC while further investigations continue.

Officials say the operation was based on gathered intelligence and is part of efforts to stop international drug trafficking through Ghana’s ports.

“The interception was a result of intelligence-led operations aimed at curbing international drug trafficking through Ghana’s ports,” authorities stated. Enditem
