Former Member of Parliament (MP) for the Dome-Kwabenya Constituency, Hon. Sarah Adwoa Safo has fired back at the General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) after being referred to the National Disciplinary Committee of the party for action over her recent comments on party issues.
She indicated nobody within the party can shut her mouth and prevent her from commenting on matters within the NPP.
“Who is the NPP General Secretary to tell us not to speak? When he was doing a media tour from radio stations to TV stations explaining himself after our defeat in order to gain solidarity from party executives to maintain his position, who questioned him?
Nobody can shut my mouth not to talk. The General Secretary should know very well that he has an election coming and must not be allowed for people to manipulate him,” said the former Dome-Kwabenya Constituency MP.
The NPP on Thursday referred Hon. Adwoa Safo to the party’s National Disciplinary Committee for action against her over certain comments in the media in contravention of party directive and constitution.
The statement signed by party General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong said the former MP’s comments within the media space has violated the party’s directive to members to desist from making utterances that create disaffection within the party.
“Following the directive issued to all members of the NPP to cease discussions on matters that create disaffection within the party in the media, Hon. Sarah Adwoa Safo’s comments in the media particularly on the Pulse Show on Joy News are clear contravention of the directive issued to all NPP members,” said the statement. Enditem
